My work as a portrait painter is an ongoing exploration of identity, particularly my own- as an American woman. Through the medium of oil painting, I seek to investigate the stories that shape us and the cultural inheritance we carry. My portraits are not just representations of people, but reflections of the broader American experience—woven together with history, memory, and the complexities of gender and identity.

Inspired by the rich traditions of American art, I draw upon the past to engage with the present. My paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia, yet they also challenge conventional portrayals of women in art and history. By working in oils, I embrace the timeless, tactile nature of the medium to express both the physicality of my subjects and the emotional resonance of their stories.

Through my work, I invite viewers to reflect on their own sense of identity and the ways in which personal histories are shaped by the cultures we inhabit. Each portrait is a conversation between the past and present, exploring how we see ourselves, and how we are seen.
